Firmware v3.473 - USB Recording (drive) not working - SOLVED

After updating to latest Firmware v3.473 I realise that my USB harddrive no longer is accessable. Hence recording programmes etc. does no longer work!!!

Pulling out the USB and putting back into the TV (either of the ports - primarly port 1) the USB is registered but the TV wont recognise the Western Digital drive (the sony recommended version!) but tells me that it needs to be placed on a none HUB port?!?! The drive is recoqnised but in-accesable.

Does anyone have an idea on what to do?

Usually this issue is a hardware issue that concerns the HDD.

Can you apply extra 5Volt power to your disk?

If there is not an extra power plug on your disk you can also use a Dual USB Y Cable To Mini USB For 2.5 Hdd(one cable plug goes just for power)
