I have just bought a smart TV with youview and the record button does not work. After reading i am told you can not record from this TV which if known i would take it back. Can you plug in a you view box and use that or does anyone knoe how to get round it.

Yes, (in the UK) you can plug a YouView PVR into the tv via HDMI and use that to record terrestrial broadcast channels.

You can record Freeview and Freeview HD content from the TV but not Youview. Also, I believe that to enable the record function, Youview has to be turned off.
