Couldn't format USB drive

Hi,

I can't register a USB drive I bought to be used as app space on my TV.

TV: 65XE9005 (XE 90 65")

Drive: Patriot 128 GB Supersonic Rage 2 Serie USB 3.0 Flash Drive

I tried registration (in Storage & reset) with these combinations:

Plugged right into the USB 3 port and tried registration
First formatted on a Mac as exFAT, then plugged into the USB 3 port and tried registration
First formatted on a Mac as FAT, then plugged into the first (USB 2) port and tried registration

All of these give the same error message in registration after a while: Couldn't format USB drive. After that the drive isn't even mountable at all on the TV (not even after reboot), and thus the drive needs to be formatted again somewhere else...

The drive is completely new and otherwise works normally.

this was advertised with 2015 models. Now it's 2018 and still doesn't work. Actually none of the USB related things that they broke with MM update a year ago isn't fixed yet. And probably never will be. Return the TV if you care about actual smart capabilities and not just embedded stuff.
