just switched on my sony bravia lcd tv and i have a picture of a white cable going into socket with a red circle around it and and arrow to the right rotatating 360 degrees.

Hi there

It means do not switch off. Have you only just got it or connected it to your home network for internet access? If so, its probably updating the tvs firmware.
