What you are describing is a full android reboot that is not normal and may depend on your connection to power , some device connected, some app installed or an hardware problem on the tv itself.

Since installing update on Sony KD-49XF90 tv keeps losing internet connection and takes ages to start with android screen appearing first the another screen telling me it’s a Sony TV then a load of colourful claptrap telling me its android, finally it connects with my Sky box. Hope someone has some ideas so far spent several hours calling Sony and John Lewis with no success, really disappointed with this set now and unlikely to buy Sony again after this mess
