KD-49XG8396 Popping Sound

Just recently my KD-49XG8396 which is wall mounted, when we power the TV off after watching it has started to make a pop/crack sound, as if the plastic is expanding/contracting, I've seen on another forum others have had this issue with the 49xf series, anyone else having this issue?

The topic didn't help, as I stated it's as if the plastic is expanding/contracting, still very annoying, especially as it only started recently.

I have started having the same issue with my kd55xg8796. Has started making a popping sound, sometimes as frequently as every minute, happens both when on and continues when the tv is turned off for at least an hour if not more. Tv is on a flat ikea unit at the moment but the intention is to wall mount it. Wondering whether i should be going back to the retailer as tv was only bought early this year.
