That’s not right. Get on to your retailer to get the set looked at, or replaced.

Yup, that's definitely not right. But does it seems like an Alarm or something that you might've set on the TV set itself? Or is like a static buzzing sound from the TV internal components? And what's the model of your TV?

Got the matter sorted thanks. I believe it was my Freesat box causing the problem. I occasionally reboot this together with a better quality HDMI lead. Fingers cut hasn’t happened since.

Sony sent an engineer to examine the TV and it appeared to be the Freesat Humax box. See my previous post. Many thanks for your input.
