topic Touchscreen failure in M Series

Hi there,

Really need help here. I have searched and tried possible solutions from this forum, but none of it working fine. My M5 Dual touchscreen suddenly failed to response. It happened while I was charging the phone and suddenly there was incoming call. It tried to answer the call but I cant. But I can see all apps, incoming calls, messages, etc. I sent to qualified technician, he replaced the screen and put in new battery, but the new touchscreen still fail to response. Then, I switched off the phone for 2 days. In 3rd day, I switched it on, and suddenly the touchscreen worked fine. I quickly backup phone contents into microSD. During the transfer process, the phone generates heat. Again, the touchscreen failed to response. What should I do? Is it hardware failure or software failure?

@EizanAziz

It's hard to say if it's a hardware or software issue from the available information. I'd suggest that you perform a software repair using Xperia Companion. This will do a clean installation of the latest firmware and will also wipe your internal memory. Don't forget to backup using Xperia Companion, but preferably without adding apps or settings to the backup.

If the touchscreen stays functional after the repair process, then it was a software issue. Otherwise, it would be a hardware issue.

Follow the steps given in blue links, and keep us updated.

Thanks for the advise. I have tried repair the software twice. It only lasted 1 day. Once the phone completely updated the Sony apps, the touchscreen failed again.
