I am experiencing a very similar issue. It may be down to the fact that months ago the phone got wet because since then my phone's speaker has been a bit crackly but then earlier on today, I was on a call on loud speaker and all if a sudden it drops to me barely being able to hear it. Whether I have blown the speaker with my loud music or it is something else, I don't know. Any help??

Same problem here on M2 Aqua, after Lolipop update, the sound is much lower, I think is 30% lower on whatever I use, ringtone, apps, videos, music, games.

I find it difficult to hear the phone in my pocket when someone call me or even when I receive an SMS.

I've tried everything that came up in my mind and from Google searching, nothing has solved this issue.

I hope that Sony will correct this issue in a near future update.

I bought my xperia m2 dual just 2 months ago. Everything was perfect in my opinion,and i don't even complain about camera quality.

But I'm facing the same issue as above now. And it's very disturbing.
At first,the speaker sound was good,loud and clear.
But now i barely hear notification and ringtones eventhough the volume is on max. I even can't use it as an alarm anymore as the sound was too low.
I don't know if this is caused by upgrading to lollipop, but i've tried every suggestion on google or on this forum with no result.

My last try will be tobring my xperia m2 dual to a service support,but i'm not eager to do so as they took months to fix it with unqestionable result.

Could you help me Sony?

Hi Iridia, there is double layer, first one is kind of plastic stuff and then tiny net, basically you need to uncover your speaker. But you must be aware that phone speaker will be ecsposed to dust and other dirt. However I did that to my phone when I uploaded video and speaker is still OK since then.

Strange, because mine is ringing lower right after Lollipop update. It was the first thing that I've noticed. Another problem was heavy battery drain and heavy heating on the phone, for five-six of days in a row. I presumed that an application made that, with huge data trafic. Now, the battery seems to be ok.

Anyway, I hope that Sony will do something about the lower sound.

@Elyos

It has nothing to do with that layer from speaker cover. If it is partialy damaged or you have a gap there, it should ring a little bit louder. Did you had speaker cover damaged before the Lollipo update?
