It is possible for a network operator to decide not to accept a software update, however I believe this is extremely rare. I haven't seen it happen with any UK operators (I am NOT in the UK, so I can't be 100% certain).

I have the Sony (Ericsson) Live with Walkman and I know that the ICS update will be rolling out for my phone end of May/early June. But my question is that my phone is locked to Three (UK) network so will I still get the update? I'm asking this because apparently the network rolls out the update and if they want they can reject it so users won't get the update, is this possible?

Thanks in advance...

I'm really looking forward to the ICS update so I need to know whether getting the phone unlocked 'frees' me from the network, if they do reject it for any reason what so ever.

No, if you phone is unlocked, you still wouldn't have access to the update.

You'd have to have modified the phone to REMOVE the operator software entirely.
