Facebook not syncing in ICS

When my phone was still in gingerbread, it functioned really well, including Facebook. But then when I updated my phone to ICS, I realized that:

Contact pictures are no longer updating.
It cannot detect facebook profiles of my new contacts.
And when it does detect a facebook profile of one of my new contacts, it does not show any contact picture whatsoever.
Statuses were also not syncing (not that they matter)

I even resetted my phone into its factory settings and formatted my SD card. I cleared the data of Facebook as well. What should I do?

Again clear data and go to fb app > login and select sync ( it will ask at startup )

Don't logout after that. See if you are able to make it

One more thing, - go to settings > account and sync > on > facebook > unckeck it and again mark it

I do not know why it worked now (as I had tried this several times before, but it never worked) but THANK YOU SO MUCH! I was able to make it this time. Yay! Oh, and thank you for your immediate response too. God speed.

Oh, and:

If I remove the facebook widget, will the status updates remain or not? Will it still be updated if I remove it?
Why is twitter statuses no longer shown in Show Status Updates menu?

1) yes you can remove the widget without any problem, status updates will remain

2) You mean to say in timescape widget ?

where is Show Status Updates menu ?????

when we go to contacts , press the menu key and select settings , there you wil find the show status updates menu.

and to get status updates you have to add the facebook widget or else you won't get status updates.

Oh, okay then. No, what I meant to say was the one in the contacts. When my phone was still running in gingerbread, twitter statuses can be found below the names of my contacts (like that of their facebook statuses) but now, it's gone. It is in contacts> settings > show status updates.

Nopes slim, status updates in contacts has nothing to do with the facebook widget

It works perfectly without any problem

maybe in ics , but not in GB
