I just have to disable 3G.. that uses up huge amounts of battery (i haven''t tested it with 3G on after i got .73)

I bought this phone Xperia S 4 days agao, I like the phone, the apps, the quality of pictures and video, except for the battery. It should hold for at LEAST a full day! The Samsung Note last a full day!

If the battery is not working properly, what is the point of having such a phone as the Xperia S??

I am very very disappointed in the phone and Sony, because the phone's battery should not be fully discharged after a mere 6 hours and then I did not even use to watch a movie or listen to music!!!!

I tested it twice now on days I'd been away from home all day.....of course I took my charger with me.

1 day I watched one video of 52 minutes and did not listen to the music on the device, day 2 I only listend music on the device for 30 minutes.

The first day I was away I had a movie shoot, I was watching a video of 52 minutes. I took my phone from the charger in the morning and saw that it was not even on 100% capacity.......around 3pm my battery was drained and I had only 25% left!!!! What the helll!!!!!!! :S

This day I charged my phone 2times! One somewhere on the movie set untill it was fully charged again (green light showing ) and I had to do it again when I got home...... :S

Oh yeah I turned off the Bravia Engine and wifi ( which should not have to, even on my blackberry 9700 everything is on and the battery last a full day!!)

The 2nd day (yesterday ) I only listened to music while I was outside for 30 minutes in total. In the morning when I took the device from the charger it was on 100%....surprised, BUT around 3pm again my phone's battery was almost out of juice. When I came home I had to charge the phone again. Took it off the charger again at 6.30pm for a performance. I got home at 11pm....and what did I see.....battery almost died AGAIN!!!! This day I also had my Bravia Engine on because I think this should not matter. I took a few pictures on 12megapixels, stopped listening to music via the Xperia when I had to go away for the second time that day.

Nowhere on the web I read that this problem will fix it self after a while or that Sony will do something about it. Today will be another test day for me......and most likely I will receive the same result. I can still change the phone but when I do....I will go for the Samsung Note. A good friend of mine has that one and has EVERYTHING running, plays games on it, watches movies, youtube, all his email comes in, takes pictures and listens music on it. He has no problems with that device.......

I'm a Sony fan...this just saddens me because this should be the most powerfull smartphone at this moment. If I do have to keep a Sony Xperia S....and the problem stays....I will write a complaint letter to Sony because this is UNEXEPTABLE!!!!

In other cases my phone does not charge to 100% instead it stays on 1% and then i can use my phone for a couple of hours
with 1% battery ?!?! My sony xperia s is charging differrently - sometimes the battery goes for one minute to 100% (which obviously is not true)
and other times its stays at 1% (but then i have small amount of charge for couple of hours) . I tried repairing it with sony repair tool ... but the only thing it does is clean reinstall and the problem is still there. Please sony give me an advice or try to help me . I love sony as a brand ,and im very happy with my xperia s till now. The phone does not have a single scrath . Its in perfect condition please help !

Well, I own Xperia S from more than an year now. Earlier my phone went dead but as it was under warranty I got my "board" replaced in July, 2013. After I received the phone, I noticed it has been upgraded to Jelly Bean. From last few weeks, I am noticing highly unpredictable battery consumption pattern. It shows 100% at sometimes and within a minute charge vapours to 1%. When charging it shoots from 1% to 100% in an minute. I repaired the phone using PC Companion successfully, but of no use. As my phone is out-of-warranty now, I cannot even take it to Customer Care.

As you guys had this problem before, please help me know how you got this problem fixed. Thanks in advance.

-- Krishna
