Does it have any difference between then?

I mean, It's better to wait for Sony to launch my SI number and update by PCC or to download the ICS version and doing the manual, like that:

Also, my cellphone is actually MT15a, and for what I've seen this att turns it to MT15i. I live in Brazil and for what I saw the frequency here is 2100 mhz. Probably it's not a problem, but just in case...

I have a XPERIA Neo, SI 1247-1256.

this is what you could do

backup your current firmware -> manually update to ICS -> once your SI number its on the list -> flashback to your original firmware and use SUS to update

oh and by the way even if you have the "a" variant you can use the "i" variant, it WON'T affect your 2G and/or 3G connectivity the only difference is that if you go to settings -> about phone the name of the phone will have an i instead of an a, but if you flashback you should get the a back
