Text problems

My phone has decided to stop sending messages today, came up with a message this morning saying there was a problem with sony ericsson messaging and I had to do a force close. Tried switching phone off then back on but no change. I have now linked it to computer in case it needed updating which it doesn't, but it did send 2 out of the 3 messages I had tried to send earlier. Tried to e mail the support team but can't because it won't let me set up an e mail account stating it cannot establish a reliable data connection. I have good mobile signal and full wireless connection, can anyone help??

Have you spoken to your Network Provider at all regarding this issue?

Hi no I haven't because it came up on my phone that it was a sony ericsson problem. Just tried to send another message and this time it is just saying unable to send. Do you think it could be a network problem? I can recieve texts and make and recieve calls

It's possible. Before you contact them you could try using the following PC Software:

http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/tools/pc-companion/

Then do this: Support Zone > Software Update > Repair phone.

(Please Note: At this point your phone needs to be disconnected)

This will reset the software on your phone and hopefully resolve any issue.

If you have any trouble using that program you can also use this one instead:

http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/tools/update-service/

It should ask you if you want to re-install the same version again, just say yes.

You can stop a message from sending only if a clock icon appears beside the message.

   1. In a message list, highlight the message.
   2. Press the Menu key.
   3. Click Delete.

Note: it is better to backup text messages for you may need to retrieve deleted texts one day
