Hey I have a new Sony Xperia T and have just read about it taking 10-15 times to reach full charge but from 100%-75% battery takes about an hour tyo discharge with the phone getting extremely hot as well. Is this normal?

Cheers

Hi guys, if anyone of you have been using the Xperia T do you have Battery issues.

1. The Sony WALKMAN App drains battery a lot compared to a much more feature rich player like PowerAmp.

2. The Media Server Task is draining the battery even though I am not streaming to other devices as well.

3. Screen is as usual draining battery -> This I understand.

4. All the while I am playing on the ear phone not on the loud speaker.

My xperia Arc lasts much longer than the Xperia T with a 1500 mAh Battery and both of them doing only music listening.

I have problem as well with the battery. I got my xperia t from three mobile here in England. It's been with me for seven days now. I was shocked how fast the battery goes drained. It is very annoying!! Battery saver is always turned on. Brightness is at low level. When I charged it to 100 percent, it will go down to 70 percent even if I don't use it for a very long time. If Sony company is reading this message, I would like to say you produce rubbish phones. Your phones are not user friendly and we can't even use the whole features of this phoneI coz obviously we need to always conserve the battery. regret I got this phone instead of iphone or samsung s3.

It sounds like both of your phones are quite new. This affects the battery, since the battery in these phones needs about 10-15 charging cycles before reaching max capacity. So I would advise you to keep patient for about one more week or so and see if the capacity improves. I'll monitor this thread so please post again after some more testing.

Hi from Italy...

I was wondering if James Bond would use this phone to cook an egg over it!! I've experienced the same problems. A very significant battery drain. It seems to use a lot of battery when connected to gsm (not when on wifi connection), and it becomes HOT!!

I will try to remove apps like avast anti theft (the only thet should drain battery so fast, I suppose).

I will keep patient for about two weeks, to see if battery capacity improves, but I'm sure the problem is in the Android OS (on my battery status monitor "Android system" drains the 70% of battery... more then display does!!).

Please find a solution as soon as possible.

Thanks (and forgive my english!).

Hello everyone.

My Xperia T worked fine with Android 4 (ICS). I could get about 18 to 19 hours of battery life. Past week I got the 4.1 (Jelly Bean) update and suddenly my battery was draining very fast.

I've been checking battery ussage for a few days and the problem seems to be "MediaServer" process. This is a process used by many multimedia applications such as Walkman, Google Music or Beyondpod.

Whenever I start one of those applications the process is launched and falls into some kind of infinite loop cheking for something. No matter if I close those apps. Mediaserver still runs in background consuming huge amounts of battery. It is comsuming between 25 and 39% percent of my battery. In addition to that the back of the phone is much more hot than past month (with ICS).

I've even restored my phone to factory settings (twice) but the problem is still consuming battery. In the best situation I can only get 12 hours of battery life. In addition to that, I don't think the hot is doing any good to the circuits nor the battery.

Has anybody solved the problem. If anyone from Sony Mobile is reading this I offer myself to perform as much test as they want to give you more feedback.

Thank you very much for your help. Best regards.
