Booting xperia P in safe mode

HI All,

This is how to boot your Sony Xperia P in safe mode.

1) Switch Off The Device

2) Boot It (Switch ON the device)

3) Let The SONY Logo Pass And When You Reach Xperia Splashscreen And The Phone Vibrates Before Entering The Homescreen

4) Touch And Keep Caressing The Menu Button (The Right Hand Side Button)

5) The after some time your xperia p will boot in Safe Mode !!!

6) you can verify this by seen the lower left hand side of the Display. It show "Safemode"

What I need to know is why shoud be boot in safemode?

What trouble shooting can we do in this safemode?

Hi florenzgonzales,

The only thing that I have notice is that when you boot your xpeira p in safemode all the apps that you have install (other than the default apps that comes with the firmware) are disable. So if you have any problem in your xpera p then you can easily identify where the problem is due to a install app or not by booting the xperia p in safemode. Otherwise you need to uninstall all the apps that you have install. This is very time consuming.

You have essentially covered it. The main use for this function is much like safe mode on a PC allowing you boot up the device if there is an application causing the problem and then removing it before booting back into regular mode.

What are your thoughts about this forum? Let us know by doing this short survey.

Hi Sam,

I use Xperia P .I wanted to restore my datas via PC companion. I did it and powered off the phone then power it on. It takes 2 hours just "Sony colourfull clouds logo" is running on my screen. I tried to use power+voice buttons it did not work, there is no vibration. What is the problem? T

HI rodeoinamo,

I think it is due to not enoughf of battery power. what you need to do is just charge your phone until the light apper in green and try to power on the xperia p.

If you still unable to poweron the xp the do a repair using the SUS (Sony update service)
