I went through something similar with mine however I was told that it wasn't the glass that was cracked but what's underneath the glass that's cracked and that this can happen simply from having the phone in your pocket. Huh? What? Where do 99% of people put their phones? This must obviously be a design flaw because every other phone I've ever had has never had this problem. Anyway, the tech I spoke to was sympathetic but did say this was an off-warranty repair and directed me to send the phone to the Laredo, Tx repair center. He also said that if it`s found out that more people experience this problem, it`ll be classified as a design flaw and Sony might replace the phone free of charge. I included a letter of explanation detailing what I did, etc. so I hope to get a positive response from them in the next couple of weeks. So, all you folks out there who may have gone through this, speak up! Maybe we can turn this thing around. Wish me luck!

Yes, I know the spec's say shatter proof and scratch resistant,

As I said,

In a previous post , Johan (SONY SUPPORT) stated it definitely was Gorilla Glass,

but that post has strangely disappeared.

Could one of the Sony Support team confirm this please.

The specification does unfortunately not say exactly what glass that is used, it only says that it's scratch-resistant with anti-shatter film. I will try to get more information but i doubt i will be able to provide any more information on this.

I really think that Z Ultra doesn't use Gorilla Glass. And I also even think that Anti-Shatter claim is fake. The proof is my Z Ultra get cracked easily. I just used this gadget for two weeks and then I got mine cracked after I put it into my pants pocket....

Becareful guys...
