Neo V no Wifi after ICS update: is there a solution?

Hello guys,

I recently updated my NeoV from Gingerbread to ICS 4.0.4,

namely the latest version 4.1.B.0.587.

After that, I immediately noticed that the Wifi doesn't work;

I also discovered that this is a notorious bug of this version.

Wifi not only doesn't work at my home, but also in other places.

The found networks all appear at very very low signal.

Sonymobile seems not to have provided an official update

for this problem, bad thing.

I ask the users of this community if they could obtain

a solution or a workaround for the problem.

I ask some proposals:

a) there is some App in Google Play that can help?

b) the problem is solved if I install Cyanogen ROM?

Otherwise, it seems the only option is coming back to Gingerbread.

Hi,

The ICS update(4.1.B.0.587) launched by Sony has a bug. After few days of usage, one day my phone stated experiencing restarting issue and i wasnt able to use it. So, i got it downgraded to 2.3.4.

For the past few months i've been using 2.3.4 on my Neo V. I dont know whether any recent update has been launched to eliminate this issue.

I would suggest you to contact ur nearest authorized service centre or return back to Gingerbread in order to use your phone without any issues.

I applied your solution: I came back to Gingerbread.

It seems the only one appliable and general: Sony couldn't solve the problem in official way, big pity!

I was expecting Sony phone will be better and have quality.

I own xperia neo v and because of slow performance updated to ICS which makes things worse.

This is the second Sony phone which I am facing issues.

If software is not working properly what is the use of phone. If it takes long time to get the dial pad, hangs atleast 4 times a day, disconnecting wifi all make this phone useless.

So no more Sony phones.. They are releasing new updates without any proper testing to make things more worse..
