Experia Miro - How to stop camera auto starting on wake up...?

Hi,

I've had my 1st "Smart phone" for just over a week now and it has an annoying feature where the camera starts up whenever I wake the phone. I have looked all over the settings, apps for a way to stop this.

My phone beeps I've got a message... when I wake the phone to read it I have to wait for the camera to start and then back to the home screen before I can open and read the message. If I open messaging before the camera the system hangs for a short while, it's only seconds but then I have to go back to homescreen and then open messaging again to read them.

If I want to use the camera Sony have put an easily accesible shortcut on the homescreen so autostarting of the camera is not really needed.... Is there anyway of stopping this...?

Check if something is set with "Smart Connect"... May be you assign camera to open while unlock / screen on etc...

Hi Hedgerows.........

Sorry I have not found any solution as yet...

I uninstalled / deleted the camera app and then everytime I woke the phone I got a diagnostic error...

Then I couldn't find the camera app to reinstall so I've reset the phone back to Factory Data Reset..

Luckily this time I had set up backup with Google so I don't have to go finding everything I had on there..

Nothings changed with the camera.. So I guess it's how it is..

I did check the Smart Connect but it doesn't have any camera settings that I could find and everything is off anyway.

If................. I find a solution I'll put it here :smileysmileywink:

Are you swiping right to left rather than left to right on the wake up screen?

That's it..... I'm officially a Numptie Newbie...

Didn't notice the unlock icon on the screen was a camera icon....

So I've been swiping Right to Left <<<< as that was the diagram in the quick start instructions..
