lagging problem

Ok the problem is whenever I try to browse on Crome the phone laggs like. The keypad also laggs very much. When I try to minimize the app, it takes 2-3 seconds for the home screen to appear and the screen restarts itself. Can anyone please explain me why this happens? Is the crome app too big for the phone to handle?
PS - my internal memory is almost about 70% free
I dont have much apps installed in the phone that may use up the memory. I want too know what is causing the problem.

Settings > apps > all > chrome > clear cache, do the same to other heavy apps (instagram, facebook, etc)

if you have a lot of sms/mms or even call logs it will slow down your phone, it doesn't hurt to do reinstall the latest update and clear those apps, this is how to backup your sms/mms and call logs (on your gmail)
