Phone Locking Question

I just got this phone yesterday the Xperia J. So when I'm listening to music my screen stays on. I want the screen to turn off and walk around put phone in pocket and not worry about pressing buttons, but when I press Power it turns the music off.

When I set it to 15 seconds inactivity of course the phone turns off when listening to music. I like to have the phone on my desk at work and have it locked (with my pin) and music still plays, is this possible?

My old phone, I was able to listen to music, walk around and have the phone locked, safely of nothing being pressed and music still played.

That should not happen, unless you are playing youtube, then its not going to work

Well it's not youtube site, but it's a video per say, of music, just a still photo of the artist, I downloaded from youtube to my laptop and then moved to my SD card it's in my Album gallery.

Ok I also tested it with a normal .mp3 song i nmy radio section and I pressed the power button and there it works, the screen is locked and music still plays.

I guess any videos it will stay open, making sense, cause you need to see the "video"

Indeed, videos are not going to work with the screen locked plus it will drain your battery quite a bit when you want music not video

Yep make sense. It was a full album of an artist so it's a mp4 I may try and convert to mp3, but also when I have the plug at work or on the train all is good.

But I don't mind keeping the phone open listening to the video.
