Message tone problem please help :)

i have a mp3 file a a text msg tone when i recive a msg the tone keeps going even when ive opened the msg any one ideas how to stop it without changeing or shorting the mp3 file

i found that using the notification window to open the message stops the tone immediately. using mini pro btw.

Thanks ive tried hand sms and it still the same ,and with the notication window on the mini is just the small text icon in one of the corner is that what you mean regards d900m
