Exact same problem, exact same model, exact same behavior.. I did a repair today from PC companion, and the slow reaction from pressing the home button is gone, still the touch is non-responsive AT ALL. The phone is about 1 year old give or take.

Hi,

Bought a SK17i about 1 year ago, I was perfectly happy.. Then after some time the touchscreen responded slower as normal. Helpdesk advised to do system update. Problem seemed solved, but returned after some time again. I removed pictures and movies and emptied out the inbox, phone worked normal. Last month it just failed on me, it just stopped working.. I get no respons from the touchscreen, tried recalibrating & system update & even hard reset ( advised by sony helpdesk) without result! When I slide it open to use the keyboard, the display flips and I can navigate with the arrows ect so the phone seems still fully functional EXCEPT FOR THE TOUCHSCREEN.

I was a happy customer, a true believer and very Sony-Ericsson minded (it's my 5th S-E cellphone) but after this I'm in doubt...

Even more, I just checked the xperia website and found a complete new range, no more keyboard-phones! Is this S-E's way of letting us know they failed miserably in quality???

Who can help?

Is their still something which can be done?

Or is it ready to be trown against the wall................

Sorry to hear about the problems you are experiencing with your phone.

You could try making another update/repair if you like, but since the problem keeps coming back it might be related to the hardware in the phone. To get it repaired I would therefor recommend that you send in the phone to a service center so they can take a look at it. I suspect a glitch in a connector to the screen. Contact your local Xperia Support to get information about the nearest service center.

http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/support/contact-us/
