I had this issue, I just disbled wifi calling. I think this is a problem with t-mobile. It disbles the network connection, swithing over to a wifi network. You can see your bars disappear. Carrier SMS and MMS messages are sent via their respective carrier, unless you're using a secondary MMS or SMS application (skype, whatsapp, viber, etc.) so I've come to the realization that we need to inform t-mobile about this issue, seeing as we're sending MMS or SMS messages within their network, and they're not going through.

No Wi-Fi Texting?

I just purchased my Z1s at T-Mobile a few days ago. I previously had a Galaxy S3, but I accidentally dropped it and broke the screen. I don't get really any network reception in my apartment, so my requirement for a replacement phone was that it MUST have Wi-Fi calling/texting. With my Galaxy, I never had a problem sending and receiving texts via Wi-Fi, but now I absolutely cannot send texts period with this Z1s. I've even noticed that I cannot when I have a couple bars of network signal.

I know the Wi-Fi is working perfectly, because I have been using the internet and made a call, but I have texts lined up over several days that just say "sending".

Is this purely an issue with my phone, or does this phone not support Wi-Fi texting?

(I know it is not an issue with my plan and I have tried resetting the phone.)

Thanks for any help,

Heather

you can not send SMS/MMS through your wifi, this will have to go through your network, the only way around it is if you send messages through whatsapp, google voice, hangouts, etc
