Hi. I'm having problems using the bluetooth in my car to make calls using my Xperia Z1. I can pair the devices, but when I enter a phone number and press Dial, it just says Dialling Failed. Also, when someone calls me, It shows on screen and gives me the option to Answer or Decline. However, when I choose Answer, nothing happens and the phone keeps on ringing. My previous Android phone worked fine, as does an IPhone 5. Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks,

Karl

Just for the record, I have had that problem with 4.2.2 as well. Whilst it may not be fixed by 4.3 that didn't create the problem I don't think.

My Xperia has had the bluetooth connectivity issue since Sept 2013 (whatever version of Android that was!).

Regards

Nalab, thanks for your help so far.

However, I'm pulling my heair out over this. I just don't get it.

I'm on a mac, which probably doesn't help. But It's asking me to turn it off and press the back button... There is no back button apart from the touch screen when the phone is on. I've read that the equivalent is to press the volume down button. But nothing happens when I do that.

I'm tempted to throw this useless pile of rubbish out of the window and go back to my age-old Samsung Galaxy Mini. My heart sank further when you said that even 4.4 pronbably won't fix it.

Can you help?!

Oh.. You need flashtool.. Don't know if there is a version for the Mac... As I am a windows junkie! You have to power your phone off in the normal way by holding the power button then leave it for 30 seconds or so.. Run flashtool without the phone connected and select the ftf to flash.. It will prompt you to connect the phone when it's ready.. Then press the down volume button and insert the use cable at the same time.. I think that's what I did.. Not at home till the weekend so not in front of my pc...

I suppose it is better to accept calls from the car's icon buttons itself rather than from the phone. I accept calls from the car not from the phone itself, and if I'm playing music via bluetooth, it will stop playing music then after a call it will start playing music again.
