Individual text tones

I was curious if there are any plans for the sony messanger app to allow people to give individual contacts unique message tones. I would like to be able to know when to check my phone and when it can wait based on who sent me the text. I don't know why it's not done when you can do it for ringtones already. I installed a secondary text app so I can do it now but it's a work around and is not very effective. I liked the sony text messanger that came with my phone and would like to be able to just use it.

I know you can assign different ringtones for contacts,but I do not think this is possible by default for messages.

I know it's not possible for text messages to be assigned individual tones based on the contact. What I am wondering is if there is any plan to update the messanger to allow this in the future. I wouldn't bring it up except for the fact that I can donload outside text messangers that allow it and liek you pointed out, it can be done for for ringtones standard. If it is possible, why not update it? I just think it would be convenient for the consumer and smart bussiness for the company make sure their product is comparable to second party software.

I agree, it's a standard function for messenger app anyway. Also,the native email app does not have "push" check frequency, and this is another major letdown.
