topic camera/video issues in XPERIA archive

My camera freezes for up to 2-3 hours if I try to film anything. The phone then switches off and sometimes doesn't switch back on for hours afterwards. And obviously loses the video, I've tried only filming for very short periods and seems able to film for under 5 seconds without freezing.

Takes pictures fine but does sometimes lose these too.

In other issues, phone frequently freezes during any use and also switches self off. All issues appeared after updates, up til then was happy with the.phone.

Any help would be hugely appreciated!

Hi Nay900,

Welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

In this situation, I would suggest performing a software repair on the device, as it sounds although you have an issue related to software over hardware. Please use the instructions below.

1. Download the PC Companion software from PC Companion and install it on your PC.

2. Install and open PC Companion then select Support Zone.

3. Phone Software Update.

4. Start.

5. Repair Phone

6. Continue

7. Accept data removal

8. Next

9. Wait for prepare

10. Select Phone

11. Follow the connection steps

let us know how you get on.

Hi. I have the same problem though not so severe.

Videos longer than about 10 seconds wont allow me to switch off. I press the red button and it keeps recording. The only way to switch off is to press the power key and then i lose the video. And the phone wont switch back on for about 30 minutes.

Thing is I DID the software update about 2 months ago.

I shouldnt have to do it again.

What is the solution if one has DONE a software update?

l
