I got my z2 almost a month ago and everything was going okay, but the last few days have been **bleep**. I am having a lot of trouble with my emails. They work fine at home as I have WiFi, but if I am outside, I keep getting this message "Could not open connection to server" I took my phone to the Vodafone store and the Girl there just switched it off and on again, then proceeded to embarrass me by loudly "explaining" how to reset my phone. I have since tried every method I have found on this site, but nothing is working and I am unable to get emails outdoors. Getting to the point of dumping my phone in a Charity Shop as I need access to email constantly because of my job. Hope someone can help.
Thanks

Could be you don't have the correct Data settings (can't recall the actual term) - but if you phone Vodafone and ask them to resend their MMS and Data settings to your phone, that could fix them. Sound slike the phone doesn't have ther ight set up - works fine on wifi as it isn't using your carrier's data connection.

I'd try performing a system repair but to add Vodafone have two lots of data and mms settings - one for contract devices and the other for those that have a PAYG connection, Best thing to do is open Settings then near the top tap on More then Internet settings then wait for the list and make sure to select the correct Vodafone package

I'd still consider a system repair and if interested then follow the below guide but backup 1st

This will factory reset your phone

Switch off your phone and unplug from Pc (Hold volume up and power for around 10 seconds)
Start PC Companion and select Support zone then Update my phone/tablet then in Blue Repair my phone/tablet and follow the onscreen instructions - When prompted connect your phone still switched off holding volume down or back button - This should start the repair or reformat process

If you are using Windows 8/8.1 or a 64bit operating system then adjust the settings for PC Companion and run in compatibility mode and chose Windows 7 or XP

Hi, did the email problem start after you updated to the new software.....as you have had the 'settings' messages from Vodafone a few times i would think the problem is elsewhere, i use Vodafone & would suggest going back to the shop or depending where you live (Scotland??) a different Vodafone shop & ask them to look over the settings etc....or if you can they have a good online support where you can Live Chat to someone......i have had problems with my email a few times in the past & have ended up deleteting the app then reinstalling it & setting up everything again...it was more to do with the app (yahoo) than the Z2

So dont give up yet the Z2 is a great piece of kit :smileysmileywink:
