Caller does not hear me

Upgraded my Xperia U android to version 4.0 4 ICS, build number 6.1.1.B.1.54 using Sony PC Companion. All went well or so i thought until I received a call. Now when I do receive a call the caller cannot hear me unless I turn on the speaker.Has anyone experienced this after upgrading? and is there a fix?

I have tried powering off, removing battery and sim, replacing and powering up again, unchecking the noise suppression in call settings but still same problem.

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

If this behaviour appeared after a software update, I suggest that you perform a software repair via PC Companion to exclude software related problems.

In PC Companion you press start on Support Zone > Start on Update the phone/tablet software > Repair phone/tablet (the blue clickable link in the message) > Follow these steps without having your device connected to the PC.

Follow the instruction that appears in the program and do not connect your device until this guide tells you how to connect it.
