Messaging app not working

Hello,

I have a new Xperia Z3 tablet compact lte. I can make phonecalls no problem, and during setup all my old text messages got transferred.

HHowever, Icannot send or receive texts via the preinstalled messaging app.

Does anybody have an idea what the issue might be. I went through the settings but am new to android and might miss sth.

Hi Bubbs99,

Welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

Have you simply tried removing the SIM card from the device and then popping it back in?

You may also want to perform a settings download just in case.

Menu > Settings > More > Internet Settings > Accept Disclaimer > Choose network.

Once done see if the messaging works.

Thank you for your feedback. Yes, Image tried the mentioned remedies and can report thatched situationnremains unchanged. No textscfrom the messaging app are being sent or received.

Again, phone calls are working fine, so I am guessing the network connection is not the issue.

Any more ideas? This heavily impacts on my Xperia experience, no pun intended....

Although you can use the Internet this does not mean that it is not the account.

I definitely would suggest contacting the network carrier in this case to clarify. You may also want to try another SIM in the device to see if the same result occurs.

Sage advice as it turns out. I am using a multi sim and apparently in this scenario only one device can operate messaging services.

Once I activated the Z3 it worked like a charm.

Thank you again for your help, and maybe you can use the above should similar problems arise again.
