Missing "Double Tap to Wake" function

There is no option to wake up the phone by double tapping on the screen like in z3 and other phones.

Can you add this? It's totally annoing to wake up the phone by pressing the small side button.

Sorry,you could look for 3rd party apps but not sure how much you can rely on those.

I researched them - they are all fake.

They are just turning the brightness to zero, emulating that the phone is sleeping.

I also had similar problems..any solution yet? Now I'm using an app called awesome on off but it's draining my battery

I still use this (from my old phone now with M4) tap tap app

this is not "TAP to WAKE", it just seems you are "tapping" your phone but actually hovering on the light sensor of our phone.

This is so annoying, missing one of the most essential functions. It is quite hard to press the power button about a hundred times a day... I hope it gets resolved in next software updates.

Hi guys.. Could you please suggest me a good app for using double tap wake cause its getting really annoying using the button.. Also do you know how can we contact the sony xperia service and ask them for an update on the system so they can add the double tap wake option?

Hi I found an app in app store called Screen Lock Unlock for my M4 aqua and it works by passing your hand across the screen 2 to 3 times and it wakes the phone.
