Xperia M doesn't have that button. Only with button combination you can force it to turn off.

Hello,

Last night i received notification about software upgrade, which i decided to apply. However, after the device was done with downloading, proceeded with update and reached rebooting point, doesn't work anymore. The deviced doesn't turn on/off, can't be recognized even when connected with USB cable (so can't use PC companion) and is stuck on attached picture. Since i haven't tried to do anything out of the normal procedure of the software update, please let me know why this error took place and how i can proceed with the restore of the device, preferably without losing device data.

Thank you in advance.

You may need to perform a software repair using PC Companion. The process will erase all internal memory. You might need to charge your device for about 1-2 hours before so the device has at least 80% battery.

Make sure the device is not connected to computer or laptop and turned off (sometimes you have to press power button and volume up until the device vibrates 3 times or on some devices you have to press the small button near the SIM tray or on the back of the device).

Open PC companion->support zone->phone/tablet software update->repair my phone/tablet blue highlighted.Follow the steps given,do not connect your phone until prompted to press volume down while plugging USB cable. If PC companion does not start the repair process, you might need to run it in compatibility mode with Windows 7 (in some cases XP).

Hi,

I have been charging the phone for hours, i am trying to turn it off with the power off and volume up combination, but it still doesn't turn off. I am trying to locate the button close to the sim card but still not able to identify it. Do you have a picture of where it should be located for specific model? Bottom line is i can't use the PC Companion, unless phone is off, which i can't manage for the time being!

Thanks
