Automatic Optimization Android 6 Sound Distortion

So it happened the 2nd time playing regularly songs with automatic optimization on and then it happened, huuuge distortion bass went up like crazy it made my ears hurt
can u guys look into it.

Can you please let me know which phone model you have and which headset are you using? Which app where you using to play music? Did it happen on a specific song?

I'm using the z5 Compact ,Sony Music app,and some in-ear headphones from cellularline, it never happened before in Lollipop I always used Auto-Optimization and it happens randomly tried different songs after it occured all had the same distortion

But this doesn't happen if you disable "Automatic optimisation" under "Sound effects"?

Exactly, If I turn off the auto-optimization while the distortion is there it sounds normal again. and I need to wait some minutes or restart the phone until I can use auto-optimization again.

When it first occured I disabled auto-optimization and had no prblems occuring but then I turned it yesterday again on and today it happened again.

Can u try also in Safe Mode if the same error accours ?

So if yes, it's probably u should send bug-logs to Rickard to let him understand fully this situation

I have forwarded this internally for more information on what could cause this. Currently, i can only advice that you turn this feature off until i know more.

I have the same problem on my XPERIA Z5 and XPERIA Z3+. I think I will have the same problem on XPERIA Z5 Compact when update comes and when I install it. Waiting for fix in the next firmware update.

And not related with this subject but DSEE HX is not working at all. When I turn it on nothing happened. On XPERIA Z5 and XPERIA Z3+ DSEE HX is broken. Fix this too.

the sound is clearer on z3 but it because the Z3 is more mature than z5 ;and yes DSEE HX is not working at all

I'm currently experiencing the same problem where when Im listening though my playlist with automatic optimization on in a matter of minutes, it's WW2 in my cans with an out of proportion bass that distorts the whole music in a whole, thus inflicting pain to my ears.

SONY I'm a bit pissed that you released a software bad ridden with bugs eventhough you had 6 month to refine the software. I hope 6.0.1 solves most of the issue, I do hope so

Hi!

I can confirm that i have the same problem. First time it appeared after the update to the 6.0 update, with Sound optimization on..... It disappeared after turning off Auto optimization and Reboot of the Phone. The optimization Feature was Not usable no more!

I decided today in the morning to Reset my Phone using the repair function of PC companion.

After this the Problem occurs EVEN IF I HAVE TURNED OFF AUTO OPTIMIZATION.

Thats my First Sony Phone and I have it just for one week now. I am Very Very disapointed of this Bug.

How can it be possible that a 700 Euro Phone contains such a Bug?

By the way i am using only the original music app Of Sony and Standard vivanco headphones.

Please Sony Team, give me a working solution fir my Problem as soon as possible as i gave you hundreds of my Hard gained Euros 😞

We have found the cause for the sound distortion you may experience when automatic optimization is enabled and this will be fixed in a coming software update.

To work around this until the update is available you can turn off automatic optimization.

From your Home screen, tap the Application screen icon.
Find and tap Settings > Sound & notification > Audio settings > Sound effects.
Find and tap Automatic optimization.
Drag the slider beside On to the left.
