Was not able to find solution there either. I think the stuttering is happening when the device is in deep sleep mode. . To enhance batterry life the phone is trying to close all working applications in background including bluetooth. I am considering downgrade now :C

Upgraded to 6.0.1 yesterday evening and I've discovered that Bluetooth audio when playing music begins to become extremely unstable after 10 mins. Stuttering and having around 1-2 seconds of audio/video syncing issues. Prior to updating on Lollipop it had very slight syncing issues, but now it has become a lot more apparent. I've turned off battery optimisations for Google Music thinking that may solve it but hadn't made a difference.
Wondering if anyone has solved this issue with changing a few settings around or if Sony are aware of this and working on a solution?

Upgraded yesterday to 6.0.1. and can confirm the same problem.

Stuttering and cutting start after few minutes of use, it gets worse with phone going to sleep (screen turning off) at least for me.

Happens with both Sony Music app and with streaming app I use (XiiaLive). Tried with two headsets, Plantronics BackBeat Go2 and Jawbone Icon and there's no difference. There are no problems with cutting during voice calls only a2dp streams are affected.

I do use Mi Band (BT activity tracker) with phone, will try unparing.

Prior to the upgrade bluetooth implementation on phone was rock solid.

I ended up doing a factory reset on my Z3 Compact and it works slightly better for me. Still has audio issues if connected via WiFi or tethering at the same time and if leaving the screen of for around 10-15 mins.
It's a software issue that isn't going to solved until Sony gets around to fixing it. Which could be months, if ever!

Hi - like others on this thread, i recently upgraded to 6.0.1.

The bluetooth audio, amongst other things is now terrible, with crackling/stuttering throughout any audio track that i play.

Most displeased as i quite heavily rely on listening to audio be it music or podcasts and also taking calls using my bluetooth headsets

Please tell me that we don't have to wait until the next update for them to fix this? At least provide a patch to download to solve the problem

I have paired with 3 headsets and all have the same problem now, when previously, there was no issue.

SONY - pls sort this out!

Ive been using my bts710 Bluetooth speaker for quite awhile. It works perfectly fine with my phone until I updated it from lollipop to marshmallow. Everything about the update is fine aside from one thing. whenever I am
pairing my phone to my Bluetooth device now the music keeps on stuttering after 3 to 4 songs, even I am not using it. Its kinda annoying since I bought this phone becausr music is one of its trademarks. Anyone having the same problem?

This is annoying. I have Android 5.1.1 and my Jaybird Freedom 4 was working fine until a little while ago; then it wouldn't stay connected. I thought the headset was dead so I bought a new Jaybird X2. Now I find that the connection turns to crap after a few minutes of use with the new headset. I've also noticed other connections such as in my car drop out. Ive also found my old headset still works ok with my old iPhone4. I'm sure it's a problem with the Sony xperia Z3 compact bluetooth.

Come on Sony. FIX IT
