How long has this been happening? Or has the phone always behaved this way? If the phone passes the test in diagnostics it could be an application acting up, have you tried rebooting your phone to safe mode?

proximity sensor issue

My phones screen won't come back on after making a call seems to be a proximity sensor fault.

As soon as I press the call button the screen goes blank even if it's not against my ear. If I press the power button it will come back on and then stay on even if I then press it to my ear.

Very annoying to be honest and I can't find a setting for it. I have tried Xperia Diagnostic It shows sensor is working.

Please help and Thanks

Hi, the same happen to my C5 ultra and Z3c. What I believe is happening is that the screen after few minutes goes in sleep mode no matter what so the only way to turn on the screen after a call is to press the power button to get the screen back on.

Annoying, true but it's mostly a bad feature rather than a bug. You may send a feedback to Sony but this is a user based forum and many other users are aware of this but we cannot do anything to fix it.

Mmm.. Not a marshmallow only issue. You can try with a software repair but it won't change. Maybe you can try this. Go in settings, Display and set to put the screen to sleep after 30 minutes.

Call a friend and check if after the call the display come in. If it works, it's not a bug but a feature. Also, if you have doze mode only and not stamina try to disable power management for the display.

Repairing the software can help, if it does it means that this was most likely software-related. If there was no change while in safe mode a software repair using Xperia Companion would be my next suggestion.

Since the repair will reset your device you can always create a backup using Xperia Companion first.
