Motherboard compatibility

Hi, I think my d6653 is having motherboard issues as it restarts/shuts down after sony logo or sometimes even after being fully turned on (if it turns on) so I found a motherboard but dunno if its d6603 or d6653 so my question is if that one is 6603 would it be compatible with my 6653 and if so will my phone turn into a 6603 version ?

Hi @JAEqer,

If you suspect this to be hardware related I would not recommend that you attempt to perform the repairs by yourself, instead I'd recommend you contact your Local support in order to have your device sent to and examined by an authorized service centre.

There are however a few things you can try first. Are the reboots still happening if you (temporarily) remove your SIM- and SD-card? Have you tried booting your device with the volume down button pressed in?

There is no sony local support in my country but yeah I think to send it to a service center for it to be examined first. This is not my daily driver so I have no sim or sd card inserted, I tried with volume down button pressed in but still the same first it shut down after sony logo then during bootanimation then after it started to optimize the apps. The reason I asked about compatibilty was that if they say its the motherboard and they cannot fix it and since i found another one can 6603 fit into 6653 and cause no problems ?

If you are unable to reach your local support (or our contact center for your market) you might be able to have your device sent to service through your retailer. Before sending it in I'd advise you to try performing a software repair using Xperia Companion.

I still would not recommend you perform the repairs by yourself. I can unfortunately not assist you further with this.
