Wifi problems please help

I got my Sony m5 2 weeks ago and ever since then ive had problems.
Its connected to the wifi but it never loads, sends messages or receives them. I always have to use 4g (giffgaff). Its getting extremely annoying and to be honest I am quite upset.
I cant decide if its to do with the wifi itself as right know im using my old and that seems fine!
Ive switched of my phone like everyday, forgotten the wifi, i always seem to have to turn of wifi and use 4g then its fine, and as soon as I turn on my wifi again it stops working!!

Please can someone help me. Its truly so annoying, i cant send messages to people. Please help, I do not understand!

Are the messages regular messages SMS or MMS? if the later then that requires Data not WiFi

Well when using whatapps or snapchat it never loads the page and i never receive messages. Receiving texts are completely fine

123boocatdog do you have Bluetooth on? Or a dual band router?

If you have Bluetooth on, by turning it off will the WiFi work?

If you have a dual band WiFi router, can you try disabling the 2.4ghz band and testing the WiFi, then enabling only the 2.4 and disabling the 5ghz and trying?
