Cannot Detect Headphone

I just bought the phone today. And I find that it cannot detect my headphone. More precise to say, it detects my headphone for a few second and it's gone. I'm not sure whether is it related to a update of Sony's own system. What should I do to fix this problem?

Test different headphones, check if there's anything inside the 3.5mm connector, restart the phone

Really sorry to hear this, are you able to advise if this was with the headphones that came with the device or are they third party?

Some headphones use a standard that may not operate with the phone.

They are from the third party. My mum has the same model as mine, she hasn't updated it yet and the headphone works fine with her mobile.
