Recent apps overview not working properly

So, the overview for recent apps tends to not show me anything in the last few days... I use the phone a bit, and nothing there anymore. A restart solves the problem, but after some time... Boom... Does not show any recent app.

Anybody got some of that suggestions? 🙂

does it happen with all apps or just specific apps? could you use the phone in >>> safe mode for few hours and test it

when I click on the rectangle the apps used recently are usually displayed. Since a few days it happens that here nothing is displayed. Where can the fault lie here?

EDIT: I think I understand, the recent apps manager. So the apps you have been into are not shown there?

I meant the apps used recently. The menu on the smartphone display where all apps appear that I have used recently

Have you installed any task killers? Those might have access to clean up that field.

This error does not always occur. If the smartphone is a half-day on, I have to 90% this problem.

Apps that stop your apps in order to free up RAM memory. Or antivirus can do it too.

I do not use antivirus app and any app that empties the memory.

I'm having the exact same problem. After a reboot everything works but after a while the recent apps is completely empty.

No weird apps are installed...

I'm also experiencing this on my Xperia X constantly, and restarting the phone will do for a while as @2literpopcorn said above but it keeps happening.
No killer app or Antivirus or managing app installed.

Hello, I also have this problem.

Here's what I have discovered:

The bug doesn't happen in safe mode.
Task killer apps aren't the culprit. I don't have a task killer installed but I still suffer from the bug.
The bug is most likely to happen when user runs resource-intensive apps such as games with 3D graphics or HD video recording/playback.
The apps are still running. They just don't show up.

I do not know how to start Safe Mode. But it behaves just my phone also.
I have the bug only recently, just like Pokemon Go. Can it be that this game causes this bug?

Ok i tested it. Pokemon Go has nothing to do with this bug, because there's the same bug without playing Pokemon Go.

I have the same problem. Phone was factory reset a few days ago, no task killers installed. I press the overview button and all I get is the small apps at the bottom and a message saying,"no recent apps". I restart the phone and it works properly. But at some stage during the day it will stop working again (maybe after using Google voice recognition. Not sure) and I have to restart again. Didn't do this on lollipop!
