My phone is having this problem too. Example, I had it fully charged, then used it for a bit eg 20 min, it dies or switch off without any warning what so ever, before it dies I see the screen for a split second indicating battery is at zero percent. I plugged it to the charger and immediately switch my phone back on, and it says my battery is at 70 percentage. The problem is really frustrating, why did it switch off when I still have sufficient amount of battery power left and why switch off with no warning?

Hello,

my Xperia Z1 has started to face battery drain problemas a month ago.

It randomly goes to 0% and it turn off even if it was with an high remaining porcentage.

Some times I need to connect it to the battery charge to be able to turn it on and it starts to optimize the apps like after a software upgrade.

What can I do? Does it mean that my battery is dead and I need to replace it? My phone is 2.5 years old.

I attached some screen captures to explain the problem:

Thank you in advance for your help,

Pietro.

Welcome to the community,

From what I have seen this can be related to software over hardware. I would suggest backing up your device and then using Xperia Companion to repair the handsets software.

I have faced this problem twice. The first time it was solved after a factory reset. THde second time nothing could solve it and I send to my local Sony repair center. There they diagnosed a battery problem (as I had thought) and they replaced the battery
