Sri Lanka sim does not work

Hello Sony friends,

I have sony z3 compact bought from Poland but used in czech republic running Marshmellow update. I am in holiday on Sri Lanka and everything was normal until I bought local Mobitel sim a put it into my phone. Then it has not started and was stuck in boot loop.

I managed to repair it using pc companion tool. Then i switched it off, putted mobitel sim and the error again.

Can you help me, please?
Would sim from another provider solve my problem?

Hi @kidal5,

Welcome to the community.

If inserting a SIM card is causing your phone to boot loop, it sounds like a faulty SIM card. Can you test another SIM card and see if the same issue occurs?

Well, I have tried two mobitel sims and both of them caused the same problem.

My friend with iPhone tried also both of them and everything works as it should.

The strange thing is that putting my czech sim back does not solve the problem. It seems like the sim is making some change in firmware.

I do not know 😞

If you run the software repair and put your Czech SIM in, do you experience the issue?

With Czech Sim everything works normally. Byt when i put mobitel Sim, IT goes bad. Event putting my Czech Sim Back does not work.

Sounds like it's the Mobitel SIM. It could be a batch issue, as SIM cards are produced in bunches rather than one at a time. If possible, see if you can get a replacement SIM from a different batch.
