Okay guys

I've asked a local repair centre via email to get a quote about the price for repair

(the official sony partner doesn't repair mobile phones and sends them to external provider in Czech Republic)

And they said

"Bad News, it most likely seems like it's an issue with the LCD that throws itself into short-circuit and stops working, and none of our suppliers have the necessary spare parts"

The Display still reacts to touch though, does the short circuit likelihood after start check out?

I assume this means my Xperia P has to go to garbage now 😕

Hey guys - I have simmilar issue as guys before - everything works but screen is black

It even sometimes flashes for a split second or even for 3-4s when I turn it off, charge turn onn only to go black again.

Tried power+volume up,

repaired software with PC companion and still same thing

I did drop it about 6 hours before this happened, but it worked normally and just stopped after just holding it in my hand

I assume this is a hardware issue - what should I look for when opening it up, as the warranty is gone now?

Thanks for your help

Hi @hxffghfd,

Welcome to the community.

If you open the device any warranty you had will be void. I recommend you contact your local support team to see if they can arrange a repair.

The warranty is gone now - it was bought second hand and it was 6 months only
I unscrewed the top and tried to reconnect and connect the line connecting display and the board to no avail.

I assume there's no point dissasembling the phone futher since that's tthe main line that connects the display to the phone right?
