Xperia xz premium screen rotation problem

I just got a brand new XZ premium phone from ebay and not sure that I have a problem with screen rotation or its normal for everyone using xz premium here. So when I use the auto-rotate mode the phone works find but when I rotate my phone to landscape mode and lock the rotation, the screen automatically backs to portrait mode and won't allow me to watch the contents in landscape mode by anyhow. In other word, I can't keep the screen in landscape mode when using my phone in different dimesion while locking the screen rotation. Since my previous phone XZ allows me to lock the screen in landscape mode, so that makes me even more confused.

Is this happening in apps that support landscape mode? Or on homescreen etc?

Hi Viridis, it happens in homescreen and some other apps, but not in landscape apps.

This is a Normal behaviour. If you Go into settings->Display and Look at the two choosable optional at "Screen Rotation", you will der that one Option ist "Lock Portrait" and Not "Lock currently state".

So if an App Supports Portrait Mode and you deactivate Auto Rotation, Your Screen will Change to Portrait Mode.

This is what I have so far, I've tried both options but still can't keep landscape mode in any case when I change my dimension back to portrait

Hi @NathanLam94,

Can you please go to Settings > About Phone > Diagnostics > Test and test the gyroscope?

Hi Cam, the gyroscope works well. How about your phone there? Can you keep your phone in landscape mode while the rotation is locked?

Like i already wrote. You can't fix the Screen in Landscape Mode. There are No Problems with Your Phone. This is the Normal behaviour. You yourself Posted the Screenshot, where IT was written.

Hi nathanlam94,

I fixed mine doing a long press on a empty space on home screen, and then you go to settings and turn off the auto rotation.

That's cool mate, unfortunatley I returned the unit already, it has onther problem with battery there 😅
