XZ1 UI crashing/ stopped oreo

I was just wondering if anyone else had this issue. i've had to do hard restarts on my phone as i will lose the screen sometimes. i keep getting the message that my Ui has stopped working. i'm slowly running out of ideas. has anyone else had this issue or is it just a bug in oreo that might be fixed?

I had this issues before, when I installed the Clean Master app. After uinstalling it, problem was solved.

Have you installed any 3rd party cleaning apps? Delete those as they'll interfere with the system

Hi @KittieHearts,

In addition to @kenny-tetsuya's suggestion, you could also try enabling Safe Mode and see if the issue still persists... In fact, I would try this first because if you still have problems, you can then start removing applications one-by-one until the problematic application becomes apparent.

I don't have any 3rd party clean apps installed as I do a clean usually myself every time it crashes.

As for safe mode I can't seem to find that. But I will reply again when I've tried it would this also stop the phone from freezing and the ui being sluggish to respond?

Long press the power button > once you see the power off option > release the power button > long press > power off > after 2 seconds or so > remove the finger > you should see the option

Hi I had the same problem. My new sony xz1 UI crash and I don't use the touchscreeen. Sorry for my english but don't speak english very well.

Io ho lo stesso problema. Il mio sony xz1 UI continua a crasciare e non funziona piu il touch del display.

I tried safe mode. That worked! u realized that Uber eats was making it crash. So the message has stopped but, the apps are still crashing and the phone keeps freezing still. Better situation then prior but still have a few issues.

UPDATE:

Issue has started again. i've had to restart every morning to just get simple functionality.

I will be doing a factory restart tonight.

I'd suggest that you perform a software repair using Xperia Companion. This will do a clean installation of the latest firmware and will also wipe your internal memory, and it's much better than simple factory resetting. Don't forget to backup using Xperia Companion, but preferably without adding apps or settings to the backup.

Follow the steps given in blue links, and keep us updated.

I have been having this reboot problem since purchasing the xz1 about 1 month ago. This is a very disturbing problem as the whole basis of buying the Sony product was for the reliability. To be told that I can't refund either because I have used it makes me sad. £660 WASTED! Please help make this stupid phone work.

Update

Performed factory reset. The phone worked normally for a week. It's now gone back to freezing. Crashing having bad performance recognition. I have only installed my carrier app and one drive.

Factory resets usually fix everything bug it hasn't. I've even taken the SD card out ax thought that could be the issue. Is there any other solutions.

actually you should be able to get a refund as the phone is have issues. you might have to send it to warranty. I'm almost at that point.
