How to scan with 3D Creator

This may be a simple question but I have had the XZ1 Compact for several days and I haven't been able to figure out how to do a 3D scan. I don't see an app and don't find anything in the camera except the AR effect which doesn't explain how to do anything. Can someone give a few step on how to do a scan?

Hi @Sshep,

You should have a app called 3D Creator installed on your device. It is not accessed through the camera app, but is accessed as a separate app. In 3D Creator will need to complete a tutorial to be able to begin scanning.

Let me know if you find it and can start scanning.

I looked for the app but it's not on my phone. Is it supposed to be downloaded from the app store7

If your Apps are sorted by name it should be the first one in the list, before Album.

A strange thing happened. The app did not show up on the all apps main page so I used the App Search tool and found it. I created a shortcut from the search tool on the desktop and got the app to work. After this I checked back in the all apps page and now it shows up. Maybe this will help other if they have a similar problem. Thanks for your input.

Is there a way to skip the face/head scanning and go directly to freeform?

I don't have any subject that wants to be scanned, nor am I interested in 3D-Selfies.

You will have to find someone... You can delete the scan after you unlocked the next one. Or you can try with a mask. Dont know if it works though.

Makes no sense that you should have to go through this process. I had the same thoughts. They should just allow you to do the scans individually. I had troubles with the first scan and thought I would never get the other scans work. Just have to bear through it.

I'm not aware of a way to skip the tutorial when starting out with the 3D Creator app. I'm afraid I don't have any information regarding why this is, but I will make sure to forward this as user feedback.

If you have purchased the app "Andromeda" (plug-in for "Substratum"), then I can send the modification (I did it, because I also had no capability to scan necessary).
