I am not able to update to oreo. After downloading I get a screen message. The device is used locked cannot be trusted. How to correct it

After downloading the new update it says. Your device is unlocked. Cannot be trusted. Unable to install the update

I understand that is the error message you are receiving, but again have you unlocked the boot loader on your handset?
