Call log lagging issue

After an update to Oreo I've noticed that my call log started to lag and sometimes it is seen that numbers are converting to names. As well as my contact cards often lag when opening. Please bring a solution to this issue, really love the device but this problem really turns down the premium feel this phone supposed to have.

@Andrew251 try long pressing the Phone app icon > App info > Storage > Clear data and see if anything changes for you.

@Andrew251 what software version are you on? you can check in Settings > System > About phone > Build number. I'm not having such issue on my XZ Premium so perhaps it's a matter of a software update.

@Andrew251perhaps clearing the call history will do the trick? open Phone, tap three dots in the top right corner > Call history > three dots in the top right corner again > Clear call history.

So I've contacted my local support they told me that the problem might be in downloading the new software via mobile data

So it was recommended to do a software repair Via Xperia companion.

I have gone this repair and right now it seems that everything works just fine and looks like the problem with the call log is gone.

Well, what do you know! I wish all the complainers on this forum would READ YOUR POST about how a software repair fixed your issues! It must be a miracle.

Nobody likes to have to start from scratch setting up their phone all over again as it is a major pain in the ***! However, every phone brand on the market may need to do a reset from time-to-time. It is the nature of Android.

The benefit here with Sony is that you can do even better...by doing a software repair.

Moderators...we need to somehow make this a sticky or in some other fashion be able to point to the benefits of doing a repair showing the positive results for many.

This is bug in sony phone app and reflecting in all sony phone. The issue was in nougat also. It continues to oreo. Don't why sony is not resolving this bug.. I also tried every possible ways like resetting phone, clearing data and repairing the phone to overcome from this. But nothing helped.
