Constantly crashing

A few days ago my xz2 started crashing every few minutes. I'm pretty sure Google apps are the problem since it even crashes in safe mode. Taking out the SD card had no effect and just now I did a factory reset and the phone crashed 3 times before I could get through the Get Started screens, once on start up and twice during Get Started process. If the phone is defective why would it only start crashing a few days ago? The Support app isn't logging any app issues even though I'm getting a bunch of "_______ App has stopped working" messages. Any help would be appreciated as I really love this phone.

Bingo, something has updated most likely and could be causing the crashes, my gut feeling says Google play services which had an update recently which kinda made a lot of apps go down.

So to see if it's Google, go to settings/ apps, find Google play services in the list, tap the 3 dots in top right, click uninstall updates. Then reboot the phone.

See how that works and let us know if you can.

Tried uninstalling updates but got an "Unable to Uninstall" message. And since it crashed right after a factory reset before any updates were installed... I'm at a bit of a loss. I'm thinking maybe Play Movies is the problem. Since that app crashes the phone the most. Gonna try uninstalling updates on that one.

I have deactivated AVG protection, Amazon Apps, most of the Google Apps (Duo, Photos, Movies, Music, Gmail, aso.) in the System --> Apps menu.

Haven't encountered a single crash since I got this phone (several months now).
