In order to make sure the feature doesn't wake your device in your pocket, you can enable Disable touchscreen with screen off setting in Settings > Display.

I've just moved from a Samsung to the compact and find the lack of Always On Display and Scroll Capture features a real nuisance.

I'm use to just being able to glance at my phone to check the time and find it irritating that Sony doesn't have such a basic feature.

Scroll Capture is also a very useful feature for capturing longer screen shots that I used regularly.

Any work arounds for this or plans for Sony to add them?

@Spantastic always on display only makes sense on AMOLED displays, because they only light up the pixels that display colour other than pure black. so when always on display is on, the clock and notification icons are lit up, while the majority of the screen is switched off. XZ2 Compact uses an LCD display, which - even when displaying full black - is still switching the backlight. an LCD phone with an always on display would drain the battery much quicker.

however, you can try using Lift to wake option, which turns the display on for several second when you grab and lift the phone. go to Settings > Display and switch Lift to check device option on.

Thank you for the reply.

I haven't turned on the lift to wake function yet. Do you happen to know if this setting affects battery life? Is the feature sophisticated enough to know the difference between a lift and a jiggle in a pocket?
