Hi there, for the double tap, I think you should give it a try to see if you like it, it's a feature in your phone anyway, it's your choice.

For the pocket screen off function, if your phone is sticking out of the pocket (the phone is not fully cover), it might not work I think, because the sensor is on the top on the phone.

Finally, I got no idea which setting that you make allow your volume key to turn on the phone (please share it at here when you know the answer as well).

Thanks.

PS: try to see the setting - > geasture , might help.

What's the best way to turn on the screen when I want it to?

I don't want to press the volume buttons and then have the screen light up. How do I disable the volume buttons when the phone's screen is switched off or is in idle?

Also, I want the screen to turn On when I pick it up, but don't want lock screen to turn On when I am handling the phone, which the phone would not be able to distinguish from.

I noticed the screen dims and dims when it is placed in Idle until it turns Off, not because of Adaptive lighting.

Once the screen is Off, there is no way to re-activate it unless you shake the phone in a certain manner or press the power button.

Should I enable double tap on?

Also, there is an Accessibility feature where the phone will not respond when placed in a pocket. Maybe that should be turned off?
